As one of 28 innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration bases and the 3 leading areas of maker spaces, Jingrong Town takes full advantages of the rich university resources, completed industrial supporting facilities and an ample space for all developments and is committed to the international standard, marketing operation and professional services to keep pace with Optical Valley and Silicon Valley, so as to create a global innovation center. By the traction of policies, the perfect matched facilities, optimized services, platform sharing and the incubation of vertical industrial chains, Jingrong Town is accelerating to gather the innovation and entrepreneurship ecological chains of total factors, such as funds, talents and projects of government, enterprises, education, research institutes, successfully forming a new layout that spare buildings are turned to maker spaces and economy transformation is promoted by innovation and entrepreneurship. Premier Li Keqiang gave a full credit to Jingrong Town during his visit:"Spare living quarters are conjured to maker spaces as if new economy appearing on the market is transformed from the traditional industries."

As of now, 750,000 ㎡ of the maker space has been built in Jingrong Town, aggregating 1,633 emerging industry projects including big data, UAV, advanced materials, biomedical treatment, VR/AR, etc. Moreover, 49 new incubators were introduced including TsuPark Research Institute and Plug&Play, gathering more than 18,600 makers, bringing in 41 high-level talents including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and experts from the Recruitment Program of Global Experts, and the group of over 100 maker's mentors was also formed. “Chengdu Floater” talent program was also promoted. Now there are 624 departments for makers to live at any moment. The program has cumulatively gathered 42 public technology service platforms, 7 innovation and entrepreneurship service platforms, 22 funds, 1,399 new market subjects and 14 new listed companies with registered capital of RMB 4.112 billion in total. Jingrong Town strives to foster the new energy of economic development with innovation and entrepreneurship and takes the lead to promote comprehensive management reform of intellectual property rights. Electronic information and innovation and entrepreneurship industry have made a huge progress in the development, emerging industries such as big data and UAV with strong momentum for growth, and the traditional superior industries such as food processing featured with potential transformation and upgrading. Jingrong Town has witnessed the multitudinous international competitions such as the Final Competition of 2017 China SWC Startup World Cup and more than 300 conferences, as well as the establishment of the center of Global Innovation Center. It has been granted with the titles of the first innovation and entrepreneurship base for overseas Chinese and the first national entrepreneurship demonstration park for college students, and also included in the first batch of Chinese Characteristic Towns. In December 2016, NDRC made a special press conference to promote the construction experience of the innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base in Pidu District.
